The Essex Collection of Art from Latin America, the Essex Human Rights Centre and the Essex Transitional Justice Network invite you to this session with Alfredo López Casanova and Maria de Jesús Tlatempa Bello who will discuss Footprints of Memory and the quest for truth and justice in Mexico.

The project Huellas de la Memoria (Footprints of Memory) has been brought to the UK by the Performance and Politics International Research Centre at Aberystwyth University. The project draws attention to the issue of forced disappearance through the engraving and exhibition of shoes belonging to the relatives of the disappeared. Forty pairs of shoes and accompanying prints will be on display in London (Amnesty International, 20-31st March 2017) and Aberystwyth (Ty Celf/Arthouse 3-8th April)
