The Essex Collection of Art from Latin America commissioned Fanny Sanín to produce No. 1 for ESCALA Artist Editions, established in 2008. This initiative covers the artists' production costs and, where appropriate, includes an element of professional development. All proceeds are returned to the artist and to the Collection to support its activities and further editions.

Published in the Spring of 2004, issue 12 of the UECLAA Report looks back on the Collection's ten year history. Articles include the appointment of Rafael Viñoly as the architect for firstsite's new building and recent acquisitions.

Issue 11 of the UECLAA Report, published in the Spring of 2003, celebrated the life of Amilcar de Castro, explored the exhibition Transit at the University of Essex and listed the recent acquisitions.

Issue 10 of the UECLAA Report announced the awarding of a £300,000 grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Board (now Council) to digitise the Collection as well as recent exhibitons by Alex Gama at Gallery32 in London and León Ferrari at the Art Exchange in Colchester.
